As my final weeks with the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau approach, I’ve found myself reflecting often on the incredible people, partnerships and shared accomplishments that have defined my time here. It has truly been one of the greatest privileges of my career to work alongside an industry so deeply committed to creating exceptional experiences for our visitors and strengthening the place we all call home.
What makes this destination special has never been just the beaches, attractions, accommodations or restaurants. It has always been the people behind them — the hospitality, care, resilience and passion each of you brings every day. Together, we have celebrated milestones, faced challenges head-on, and continued to evolve our destination in meaningful ways. I will always be proud of what we achieved together and deeply grateful for the relationships built over the years.
As I prepare to step into retirement on July 8, I do so with tremendous confidence in the future of our tourism community. Pamela Johnson is an exceptional leader who cares deeply about this destination and the partners who make it thrive. I know you will be in excellent hands under her leadership, and I look forward to watching the continued success of Lee County’s visitor industry in the years ahead.
Thank you for your partnership, your trust and the countless ways you contribute to making this community a place where unforgettable memories are made every single day. Serving this destination alongside all of you has been an honor I will always cherish.
With sincere appreciation,
