What: The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) invites the community to “Light Up Lee” in celebration of National Travel & Tourism Week (NTTW), May 3-9.
Starting this Sunday, May 3 through Saturday, May 9, landmarks and iconic locations across Lee County will be illuminated in blue to spotlight the vital role tourism plays in the local economy.
The blue lighting serves as a visual reminder of the power of travel and the collective efforts of hospitality partners, businesses and residents who help make Lee County a top travel destination.
This year’s theme, “Postmarked: Essential,” highlights the importance of travel to the nation’s economy and way of life.
Who: The VCB and NTTW invite the community to participate by lighting up their establishment in blue.
When: May 3-9, 2026. Media interviews are available with VCB spokesperson.
Where: Lee County businesses, organizations and residents.
Why: National Travel and Tourism Week is an annual celebration that underscores travel’s essential role in driving our nation’s economy, cultivating vibrant communities and forging connections. Here in Lee County, tourism generated $5.13 billion in total economic impact in 2025 supporting more than 31,000 jobs and generating $1.19 billion in wages and salaries.
