FORT MYERS, FL (March 31, 2026) — Fort Myers – Islands, Beaches and Neighborhoods has partnered with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit to serve as the backdrop for the annual Swimsuit issue, which was launched digitally today and will run in the May print issue.

Set against the destination’s soft, white-sand beaches and natural landscapes, this collaboration elevates the Fort Myers area’s coastal beauty as the stage for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit to continue celebrating beauty in all its forms. Featuring Orlandria, Jena Sims, Christen Goff, Katie Austin, Ellie Thumann, Jasmine Sanders and Gabi Moura, this issue champions inclusivity and body positivity by featuring internationally recognized figures from A-list entertainers to world-class athletes and pop culture powerhouses.

“Partnering with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in bringing these all-star models to some of our most naturally beautiful settings to capture the laid-back essence of Southwest Florida has been an incredible experience,” said Tamara Pigott, executive director of Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau. “From resorts and state parks to our iconic beaches, there is an undeniable energy here — a special vibe that sparks curiosity and adventure while welcoming visitors with open arms. We’re proud to share what makes the Fort Myers area so special with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit readers, and hope the photoshoot inspires their next vacation to visit our sunny shores.”

Plans to feature the Fort Myers area were presented at the Jan. 8 Lee County Tourist Development Council meeting. Brian Ososky, chief marketing officer for the Visitor & Convention Bureau, outlined plans for the photoshoot to take place at the end of January, highlighting the significant exposure this partnership brings to the destination. The shoot took place at some of the most well-known and beloved spots across the area’s barrier islands, including the white sandy shores of
South Seas on Captiva, the Sanibel Lighthouse and seashell strewn Bowman's Beach Park, and the peaceful seclusion of Cayo Costa State Park. Embodying the adventurous spirit of the destination, the models were also photographed aboard a 42-foot sailboat with Sundance Sailing and explored the historic Fish Shacks of Pine Island Sound.

The Fort Myers area is a relaxing oasis with 50 miles of secluded white-sand beaches, nature preserves, historic landmarks, fun activities and more. It’s the perfect vacation spot for families, couples and friends who love sunny days, warm breezes, and an easygoing island atmosphere. Here, visitors will discover natural beauty, spot an abundance of wildlife, and learn why travelers continue to vacation with us year after year.
