Make plans to attend Co-op rollout, listening tour

We want to make sure you are aware of the rollout of the Lee County VCB's Cooperative Advertising Program for 2025-26.

The program will be presented from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, in Room 118 of the Lee County Administration East Building, 2201 Second St., Fort Myers.

This is an excellent opportunity for accommodation and attraction partners to learn more about a variety of marketing opportunities that leverage great exposure at an exceptional value.

This preview gives everyone time to plan and budget for placements, starting in October 2025 and running through September 2026, ahead of the purchase date. 

The Co-op Advertising Program includes:

VCB Listening Tour scheduled for August
The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau is hitting the road this August to connect with industry partners across the destination. These Listening Tour sessions — think of them as roundtables for partners — are designed to foster open dialogue, allowing you to share information with your VCB staff, including expectations, challenges and ideas for the future.

VCB's Performance Dashboard

Explore the Symphony dashboard, developed by the VCB in partnership with Tourism Economics. The dashboard combines all our destination data sources to make data insights more user-friendly and interactive.

Key insights 

  • Hotel performance: Coastal property hotel room supply and demand increased year-over-year by 14.5% and 11.1%, respectively, with revenue up 22.2% compared to March 2024. Source: STR

  • Visitor behavior: Domestic visitors averaged a 3.6-day stay in March 2025, a 12.5% increase year-over-year. Overnight stays accounted for 81.7% of visits. Source: Near

  • Booking pace: April and May 2025 bookings for total rooms sold rose 14.1% and 22.4% over the same time last year. June booking pace is currently up 20.7% year-over-year. Source: Amadeus

  • Visitor spending: Domestic Visa card spending reached $230.2M in March 2025 (+6.5%), while international spending declined 12.4% to $12.3M.Source: Visa Destination Insights

Brightwater Lagoon opens in North Fort Myers

The VCB’s Executive Director Tamara Pigott was a guest speaker May 30 at Brightwater Lagoon's ribbon-cutting celebration, marking the official opening of all onsite amenities. Located in the Brightwater community in North Fort Myers, the lagoon brings a resort-style experience to visitors and residents alike.
The six-acre, crystal-clear lagoon offers fun for the whole family, with sandy beaches, lounge chairs, inflatable obstacle courses for both kids and adults, a traditional waterslide, splash pad, swim-up bar, food trucks and paddleboard and kayak rentals.

  • (Photo 2) ASTA Trade Show and Client Luncheon, April 29: Jennifer Walla, VCB, showcased the destination to travel advisors at the ASTA South Florida Chapter Luncheon and sponsored a client table for nine travel advisors in Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton. The show featured a trade show format followed by a sponsor table presentation, where Walla connected with 79 travel advisors.

VCB wraps up National Travel and Tourism Week 

While National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) is officially over, we wanted to share some of the successes, by the numbers: 

  • Social posts on Instagram and Facebook: 7,471 total views

  • Take Me Out To Fort Myers: So far, the sing-along video, featuring many of our industry partners, has received more than 5,800 views. The video was also shown on the jumbotron at Lee Health Sports Complex / Hammond Stadium on May 7 for Islands Night.
