"Through my work, I endeavor to capture the essence of the unexplored, the enigmatic, and the boundless possibilities that lie beyond our comprehension.

When starting a piece, it serves as a portal, embarking on a journey of discovery and introspection. Drawing inspiration from the depths of the subconscious, I employ abstraction to transcend conventional understanding and delve into realms of pure emotion and imagination. By embracing uncertainty and embracing the unfamiliar, I seek to evoke a sense of wonder and awe, inviting viewers to join me in exploring the limitless expanses of the human experience."

The art world is in a constant state of change and innovation, embracing new materials and ways to be seen. As a result, in recent decades we have seen a wave of artists making prolific use of alternative media, including spray-paint, found objects, markers, or anything else they can use in order to produce one-of-a-kind works of art on every scale. Often this results in provocative imagery reflecting a generation of artists who have felt left behind or out-of-bounds from the primary scene; we see it represented so often beyond the gallery – in alleyways, on street sides, and on public walls.

The purpose of this exhibition is not only to highlight the skill and drive of local emerging artists, but also to elevate and legitimize all art forms, especially the works of those who explore the cutting edge.

We are proud to feature this group of eight extraordinary artists from Southwest Florida: Marcus Zotter, Mully, Cesar Aguilera, Akat, Will Soto, Brian Weaver, Nick Masiello and Syzygy.

If one could draw the subtle connections that exist between individuals, especially as artists, we would find those connections reach far beyond where we stand. They emerge from everyone and everywhere, and come together in the most unexpected ways. Five local artisans were invited to join one another for a group exhibition, each of them on their own unique journey, but with some key things in common: they are all women, Latina, spirited and fiercely dedicated to their art.

Each of these remarkable artists is known for creating highly introspective work, yet each with their own distinctive style and sources of inspiration. Through the use of various media, these artists have forged bodies of work that explore the deep connections of the soul – to nature, ourselves and to each other.

Together these artists remind us how we learn, through the creative process, to grow - to bloom - and not forget one’s roots.

Join us for this one-of-a-kind exposé of artwork from these five distinguished artists: Cecilia Valadez, Monika Bokelmann, Sonia Rosa, Julia Da Rocha, and Winnie Purple.

From crystal clear, reflective rivulets to green, tumultuous ocean waves – water is an essential and pervasive aspect of life. The preservation of clean water, waterways, and seas is and always will be of tremendous importance, hence the declaration of August as National Water Quality Month. In honor of this and of all the ways that water is essential to life, we invite artists to submit artwork in any media that reflects on the beauty and power of this most vital element: water.
