Southwest Florida International Airport served 1,044,816 passengers in January, an increase of 52% over pandemic-stricken January 2021. The news comes on the heels of a record-breaking 10.3 million passengers passing through the Fort Myers airport in 2021.
The January passenger total was a 0.5% decrease from pre-pandemic January 2019 and 7.7% decrease from pre-pandemic January 2020.
In all, RSW had 10,243 aircraft operations in January, an increase of 19% over last year. Delta led all carriers with 203,417 passengers for the month with Southwest (185,554), American (135,889), United (133,114) and Spirit (118,586) rounding out the top five.
Page Field in Fort Myers saw 13,421 operations, an 18% percent increase from last year.
